The Amp Operations Manager

We are seeking a manager to oversee operations at The Amp, a 3,500-person capacity outdoor amphitheater located in Ballantyne Corporate Park, Charlotte, NC.

WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO

  • Acts as point of contact in supporting all areas of the venue and surrounding event areas.
  • Responsible for all program coordination and support of quality offerings within the assigned venue including third-party contractors, equipment rental and supplies.
  • Establish and maintain a high standard of customer service for venue staff, event hosts, third-party contractors, customers, and vendors.
  • Maintain all venue permits and safety regulations (health inspections, fire safety, sound permits, etc.).
  • Frequently inspect all property and equipment to ensure proper operation and conditions and report.
  • Serve as liaison between BCP Association Management on day-to-day responsibilities to ensure the venue is in order (landscaping, porters, security, maintenance).
  • Assist with tracking event inventory and submit supply purchases for approval (physical signage, bike rack, event tables, chairs, tents, etc.).
  • Collaborate with internal service partner departments including catering, facilities, technology and AV, marketing, sponsorships, executive production, security, transportation and janitorial.
  • Manage and forecast overall property budget including operating expenses and capital
    Manage and schedule all third-party contractors (security, parking, production team, janitorial, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.).
  • Coordinates and facilitates event set-up/breakdown with production, marketing, and promoter (event partners, third-party vendors, contractors, etc.).
  • Responsible for reporting monthly financial performance.
  • Any other reasonable duties as required by the promoter, owner, or executive management.
  • Collaborate with marketing and community relations teams to build relationships with civic leaders, governmental departments and community groups or organizations.
  • Work closely with property management, Ballantyne security and operations teams to effectively communicate any impact to the property and campus customers.
  • Collaborate with sustainability team to implement and report on sustainable initiatives and impact.
  • Manage and execute rental agreements for any third-party events.
  • Collaborate with NW platforms to ensure a cohesive programming and operational approach to all things related to The Amp.
  • Assist Promoter with meeting staffing levels and budget targets for each event.
  • Facilitates weekly meetings with internal departments to ensure efficiency and effective communication across all teams.
  • Create and operate a run of house schedule for programs.
  • Assist promoter in preparation and delivery of annual operating budget.
  • Participating member of the Venue Production Team.

  • Must have a background in operations.
  • Event production experience is preferred.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and high degree of integrity.
  • Ability to perform all job duties and responsibilities.
  • Requires excellent communication skills, both verbally and written.
  • Must have expertise in building and managing operational budgets.
  • Exhibits strong problem-solving skills in long term and immediate situations.
  • Works well under pressure in fast-paced working environment.
  • Serves as advocate for Ballantyne Corporate Park by representing Northwood in the best possible light.

REQUIREMENTS: This job requires 2+ years of experience in an operational role, excellent management skills, attention to detail and strong understanding of industry standards. Required to work evenings and weekends as needed.
