Summary:

This position is responsible for conducting a variety of electronic, mechanical, and electromechanical tests on electronic systems, subassemblies, and parts to ensure unit functions according to specifications by performing the following duties.

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, gathers and analyzes information skillfully.
  • Able to prioritize and plan work activities and use time efficiently.
  • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness, monitors own work to ensure quality and applies feedback to improve performance.
  • Meets productivity standards and complete work in a timely manner.
  • Ability to read and comprehend English
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • General understanding of basic electronics is desirable but not a requirement.

Responsibilities:

  • Reads production schedule, work orders, test procedures, wiring diagrams, and schematics to determine testing procedure and equipment to be used.
  • Tests functional performance of systems, subassemblies, and parts under specified environmental conditions such as temperature change, vibration, pressure, and humidity.
  • Connects unit to be tested to test equipment such as signal generator, frequency meter, oscilloscope, or voltmeter.
  • Reads dials or digital displays that indicate electronic characteristics such as voltage, frequency, distortion, inductance, and capacitance.
  • Compares results with specifications and records test data.
  • Confers with engineers, technicians, production personnel, and others regarding testing procedures and results and to resolve problems.
  • Reports problematic test equipment to the appropriate source
  • Other duties as assigned

Work Environment:

The work environment is typical of a manufacturing setting where hazardous materials may be present. Security investigations may be conducted to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information and/or work areas.
