Sentry is seeking an experienced self-motivated and results driven individual to fulfill a highly skilled position as a Territory Executive for our National Accounts Division. As one of a select group of Territory Executives for Sentry, you’ll work closely with brokers and agents in a defined territory to create Sentry awareness and appeal. You will be responsible for generating new business submissions and working with the team to create and sell new business proposals, in addition to retaining existing business. You’ll be the team leader in the sales of loss sensitive casualty business to National Account clients with premiums in excess of $500,000.

What You'll Do

The Territory Executive will be responsible for all broker and client relationships in the New York territory, which includes New York City, Long Island, Westchester, and New Jersey. The ideal candidate will reside in the territory and will be required to travel regularly to meet with brokers, clients, and prospects. As the team leader you will work closely with our Underwriting personnel in order to obtain/retain large individual commercial accounts commercial accounts. Additionally, you’ll:

  • Solicit accounts through selected brokers or in response to inquiries from prospective clients.

  • Work with Underwriting, Loss Control, and Claims to determine acceptability of the risk and services needed.

  • Serve as the primary contact with assigned accounts and their brokers. Collaborate with the appropriate functional units to provide exceptional service to your accounts.

  • Present proposals to brokers and prospective clients and discuss Sentry service advantages and differentiators.

  • Engage daily with Microsoft Dynamics CRM

What it Takes

In order to be eligible for this elite opportunity you must meet the following criteria:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

  • 5+ years of related work experience

  • Primary residency within the assigned territory

  • Thorough product knowledge in the primary casualty insurance lines of workers compensation, general liability, and auto liability/physical damage coverages for large risks

  • Knowledgeable in large risk rating plans to include retrospectively rated programs, large deductible programs, self-insured plans, and the services required to support such plan offerings

  • Successful experience in selling methods and sales techniques

  • Advanced knowledge of Sentry's objectives, policies, and procedures as they relate to National Accounts beneficial

  • Previous experience as a Sales Executive preferred

  • Previous technical insurance experience in sales preferred

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to meet travel requirements of the job and maintain an acceptable driving record

Based on experience and qualifications, the pay range for this position is $94,920-$130,515 annually.
