Technician Job at Cabell Huntington Hospital/St. Mary
Under the administrative direction of the Administrative Director-Radiology, radiology manager or authorized designee and with clinical supervision from the assigned Radiologist, with the primary purpose being to perform radiographic procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. Using independent judgment, with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed radiation and/or MRI imaging for radiologic diagnosis. Assumes responsibilities for designated areas or procedures as required to perform radiological procedures, CAT scans, OR imaging procedures and/or MRI exams.
Requirements:Education/Certification Requirements:
Graduate of accredited JRCERT program(s) for radiologic technology.
Holder of a valid and current: 1. Registration by American Registry of Radiologic Technologist and 2. Licensed as required by the State of Ohio. Bachelor degree preferred but not required.
Formal and/or on-the-job training in magnetic resonance imaging is highly desirable or
Formal and/or on-the-job training in computed tomography imaging is highly desirable
Obtaining ARRT certification in MRI after one year of employment is preferable but not required
Experience:
Previous experience as a radiological technologist required or a recent graduate of an accredited radiological technology program. Experience as a CT technologist/MRI technologists preferred but not required.
Skills:
Uses stationary and mobile radiation producing equipment and mechanical accessories. Operates the CT scanner and MRI scanner when assigned. Have the ability to communicate with physicians, superiors and co-workers. BLS required.
