Who we are looking for:

We are seeking a Technical Service Manager - Construction to support and grow our North American Construction business units/product ranges. In this role, you will support customers by recommending optimal products, help with regulatory requests, solve customer complaints, and introduce new products into the market. This role is responsible for driving innovation by participating and leading development projects.

What you will own:

  • Provide direct technical support to customers and handle customer enquiries for the Industry Segment product line covering aspects such as product specification, design issues and complaints in region
  • Participate and execute new product development projects for the Industry Segment, liaising with internal technical teams
  • Serve as technical and applications expert, providing greater understanding of the Industry Segment products via in depth training, within the company and to Distributors
  • Develop guidelines and formulations for target segments and applications and provide customers appropriate guidance for the use of our product range for target application like: Water proofing, Flooring and Tile adhesive, Primers, Thermal insulation system, cementitious Mortars, Joint fillers and finishing systems and Asphalt materials
  • Maintain contact with existing and prospective customers, either independently or together with the sales team, using all communication channels. Support the current business, understand customer needs, identify and progress opportunities to expand the use of the entire product range
  • In cooperation with Quality, Sales, Application Laboratories and Operations, ensure customer satisfaction and effective customer communication
  • Collaborate with R&D and engineering teams to ensure product performance and reliability as well as drive new product development
  • Remain current on industry developments and advancements in technology related to the product line
  • Work with sales and marketing teams to develop product literature and technical data sheets

What you have already achieved:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry; Master or PhD in Chemistry preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in Technical Service, Sales or R&D background for construction chemicals
  • Strong understanding of the US construction chemicals market
  • Basic knowledge of polymer chemistry, such as polymer synthesis, functionalization, and characterization as well as reactive compounding are desired
  • Excellent communication skills with internal and external stakeholders; proficient in building strong customer relations
  • Strong project management and team leadership skills
  • Up to 50% of travel depending on location
  • Capacity to learn software programs such as SAP

Qualifications that can set you apart:

  • Additional Language skills are beneficial in Spanish, German or French
