At our Richland facility, we design and manufacture the fuel sent to nuclear power plants providing cleaner, safer and more economical low-carbon energy to US households. In addition, Framatome supports the mission of advanced reactor development. This position will support the team working on fuel supply opportunities for advanced reactors.


We are looking for an exceptional Technical Project Engineer for our Horn Rapids Road office in Richland, Washington. Under minimal supervision, plans, develops, coordinates, and directs a variety of complex engineering projects. Provides a wide range of project management services, which may include managing people, and/or the scoping and scheduling of standard engineering projects. Leads standard projects and assures work is performed in compliance with technical requirements, budget and schedule.


Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provides overall project leadership and vision
  • Develops and monitors project budget, scope, and schedule
  • Coordinates all engineering work (maintains overall technical solution, development of procedures, definition and acquisition of required tools, materials, etc.) and other preparations which will be required to implement the contract within budget/schedule
  • Plans, organizes, implements and follows through to completion a solution to address client’s need
  • Defines and forecasts the necessary skills and work arrangements to support the objectives of the project
  • May supervise/coordinate day-to-day operations of engineers, designers, engineering technicians and others who assist in completion of specific project assignments
  • Represents the Company in communication with other organizations to resolve questions, plan, and coordinate work
  • Proposes plans and cost improvement programs that allow the project to achieve its business objectives
  • Provides periodic updates to stakeholders and customers, both written and in presentations

This is a full-time, office-based position with full benefits. After initial training, optional hybrid schedules are available.

All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for this opportunity:

  • BS in Eng'g/Eng'g Tech. plus a minimum of 7 years of engineering experience. An advanced degree may be substituted for related exp. (MS 1-2 yrs. or PhD 1-3 yrs.). In applicable states a PE license will be accepted in lieu of 4 yr engineering degree. Framatome LSS Black Belt certification preferred

The following may be used to differentiate candidates who apply for this position:

  • MBA in supporting a technical degree
  • Demonstrated knowledge of project management plan development, implementation and administration, Good business and/or technical expertise in a related capacity
  • Strong problem identification and resolution skills with emphasis on Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
  • Proficiency with PC-based applications such as MS Office
  • Strong communications skills both written and verbal
  • Strong conflict/constraint resolution skills
  • PMP Certification
  • Familiarity with nuclear fuel fabrication processes

Our total rewards package

The range of base salary for the position is between $106,000 - $143,000, and may also include annual incentives, performance bonuses and benefits. Please note that the base salary range is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
