Tech Buddies Assistant (PT Temp) Job at Town of Brookline
The Town of Brookline seeks a temporary, part-time Tech Buddies Assistant to assist the Tech Buddies Coordinator with all aspects of the Tech Buddies program. The Tech Buddies Assistant provides technical support to program participants and works under the direction of the Emergency Preparedness Buddies Program Coordinator. The work will be performed at different locations in Brookline.
Potential Responsibilities:
- Home visits to participants to help them sign-up for Comcast, install modems, deliver tablets, basic set-up and tablet education.
- Monitor the Tech Buddies Support Line and return calls in a timely manner as needed.
- Provide regular office hours for in-person technology support at select Brookline Housing Authority buildings as well as at the Brookline Senior Center.
- Make one-on-one technology assistance appointments when necessary.
Qualifications:
High-school diploma; strong interest in computers and technology; strong oral communications skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask; experience interacting with senior population a must. Must be professional, courteous, and patient.
Must have the ability to travel to different locations throughout Brookline. Some carrying/lifting of supplies and equipment might be required.
Pay and Hours: This position is 18hrs/week; days/times TBD; Rate $20/hr for up to 20 weeks.
