Major Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates an understanding of the curriculum, subject content, pedagogical knowledge and needs of students.
  • Demonstrates deep and current knowledge of curriculum standards and subject matter.
  • Displays an understanding of the intellectual, social, emotional, and physical development of the age group.
  • Exhibits strong pedagogical skills relevant to the curriculum and implements research-based best practices.
  • Plans using state and district standards and curricula, data, effective strategies and resources to meet the needs of all students.
  • Analyzes and uses data to inform instruction.
  • Develops course, unit and daily integrated plans that are logical and sequential.
  • Plans for instruction to meet the needs of all students.
  • Uses research-based instructional strategies to engage students in active learning.
  • Effectively uses instructional technology.
  • Develops higher order thinking and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Qualified applicants must hold, or be eligible to hold, a Georgia teaching certificate in Math 6-12.
  • Preferred candidates have a advanced degree and hold IB and Gifted certification.

Experience:

  • Successful teaching experience

  • Knowledge in subject area and ability to present accurate information.
  • Ability to use acceptable teaching procedures and methods.

  • Knowledge of child growth and development.
