Job Summary:
Tax Coordinator is responsible for applying various licenses for the hotels as well as tracking and monitoring various metrics for the tax department. The Tax Coordinator will be required to work directly with governmental representatives hotel personnel operations members accounting staff and other tax department members.
Responsibilities:
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School diploma or equivalent with a minimum 5 years of administrative or support functions experience; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience working with multiple projects simultaneously is required.
  • Ability to manage track multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills written and verbal.
  • Ability to adjust to changing priorities and circumstances.
  • Proficiency in using Excel and Word plus adapt to other required applications.
  • Familiarity with JD Edwards accounting system is a plus.
  • Ability to perform tax research and reach the appropriate conclusions.
  • Requires knowledge of accounting particularly the application of State and Local tax rules and regulations.
  • Requires an understanding of generally accepted accounting principles reports and terminology.
  • Extended hours may be required at times.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Apply for any applicable transaction tax applications for hotels.
  • Adhere to the policies outlined in the Aimbridge Employee Handbook.
  • Maintain relationships and communication written & verbal between all levels of Aimbridge employees outside providers and government representatives.
  • All written and verbal communication should be professional clear and concise.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures and systems of internal control for each Tax Department functional area and corresponding services.
  • Adhere to Aimbridge document management and retention policies.
  • Develop professional and technical knowledge by researching tax questions utilizing CCH attending educational workshops or classes; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks participating in professional organizations.
  • Develop and maintain metrics to track various aspects of the tax department.
  • Monitor and maintain tax mailboxes and distribute emails to appropriate tax analyst.
  • Set up and maintain tax mapping for hotels as they on-board.
  • Monitor closing of accounts for hotels leaving the portfolio.
  • Foster continuous improvement of the Tax Department team.
