Position Purpose
The SVP CIO upholds Capital Credit Union’s mission of “Doing the Right Thing” by leading and managing its internal and client facing information technology services. The SVP CIO is accountable for technology strategy, design, change and operations. The critical industry IT priorities are leading edge member services and experiences, data security and privacy, product portfolio servicing, and growth and innovation.

Essential Accountabilities
Member (Customer) Services Innovation – existing service catalog and new self-serve applications, member feedback, suggestions, education, and training.

Full System Lifecycle – requirements, architecture and design, development or procurement, configuration, access, testing, operations and maintenance, contracts, change management, metrics, and service level agreements, including, but not limited to the following systems:
  • Major Business Systems – core financial operating systems, companion databases and repositories, ancillary systems, and on-line banking.
  • Enterprise Systems – cloud-based, mobile, and real-time communications and collaboration, including email, social media, voice, audio and video conferencing.
  • Internal and External Network Systems and Services – local area network, branch network, public internet, routing, switching, firewalls, load management, active directory, domain name services and security certificates.
  • Management Systems – network and systems monitoring, alerting, and logging, help desk, central software distribution and licensing, asset configuration.
Staff Supervision – organization, roles and responsibilities, performance metrics, development plans and objectives.
Policies and Procedures – regulatory and compliance, security and privacy, acceptable use, remote and mobile access, and passwords.
IT Governance – project definition and proposals, priorities, project, and portfolio management, including schedule, budget and other resources, status reporting and lessons learned.

Data, Forms, Document and Records Management – repository, classification, search and retrieval, encryption, retention, versioning, backup and recovery, integrity, integration, and reporting.

Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery – recovery point and time objectives, geographic and vendor diversity, plans and testing.
Internal client support – help desk incident and problem response and resolution, education, and training.

Education, Experience and Skills
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in technology related field required.
  • Master’s degree preferred in Technology Management or Business.
  • IT management certifications are a plus
Experience
  • 8+ years of IT management experience at the Director, Vice President and CIO level.
  • 3+ years of IT management experience preferred in banking, credit union or other institution that requires a high level of customer data security and privacy.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements
  • Office environment with moderate level of noise
  • Frequent use of telephone, copier, computer, fax machine and other office machines
  • Prolonged sitting or standing
  • Frequent mental and visual concentration
  • Minimal lifting of up to 50 pounds
  • Moderate level of travel to branch locations, meetings, and conferences. Occasional overnight travel.

NOTE: This job has the potential to work from home contingent upon supervisor approval. Approval will be based on the Work from Home Policy eligibility requirements, the ability to perform from home at a high level, as well as the department needs in terms of having their supervisor physically present in the office.
