The business serves as the bridge that connects suppliers in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and South America with customers in North America. POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Sustainability Manager provides strategic sustainability support developing and executing on Acme sustainability program, sustainability objectives, initiatives, and strategies under guidance and in collaboration with the Vice President of Global Sourcing.

RESPONSIBILITES AND ACCOUNTABILITES:

  • Perform sustainability audits for new and existing suppliers with the purpose of evaluating the expected sustainability performance of the supplier, and communicate relevant information with sourcing team to facilitate supplier selection decision and strategic decisions
  • Responsible for Acme’s RSPO certification, growth of RSPO portfolio, management of RSPO credits as per business needs, and data to support company’s adherence to being a responsible leader member of RSPO
  • Responsible for Acme’s NACD program and keeping Acme always up to date on the certification as per industry best practices and standards
  • Manage, Initiate, lead, and implement projects, which have the primary goal of advancing key sustainability goals and certifications like Sedex, Ecovadis, etc.
  • Contributes to the development, management and implementation of Acme products’ sustainability strategies, programs, and multi-year plans
  • Create and monitor the implementation of environmental and sustainability plans, strategies, standards, procedures and systems, regulations, and statutory legislation within the program, in line with company program requirements
  • Support the measurement and certification of the Acme sustainability program’s performance against environmental sustainability legislation, standards and objectives and report the results on a frequent basis
  • Publish Acme’s sustainability report on an annual basis and periodic updates in between with the aim of showcasing Acme’s leadership as a sustainable Oleochemicals distributor
  • Support longer-term sustainability strategy and “Think Big” initiatives
  • Have a continuous improvement mindset by constantly uncovering, recommending, and implementing more efficient, effective work processes within the sourcing group and AH’s other functions
  • Further the culture of Acme-Hardesty by demonstrating accountability in alignment with AH’s Cultural Beliefs.

KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND SKILLS DESIRED:

  • Master’s or bachelor’s degree in related field with related experience in similar industry
  • Minimum 7-10 years’ experience in mid-level sustainability leadership roles
  • Ability to collaborate in a cross-functional team environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Team player, self-driven, highly motivated, strives for excellence, curious to learn
  • Excellent computer acumen in MS Office, enterprise resource planning (ERP) system
  • Must be highly organized with the ability to multi-task
