Sustainability regulations are a key area for HP to ensure compliance and market access. This role will focus on product level materials topics for North and Latin America. The right candidate works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors. Leads and/or provides expertise to functional project teams and may participate in cross-functional initiatives. Acts as an expert providing direction and guidance to process improvements and establishing policies. Frequently represents the organization to external customers/clients. Exercises significant independent judgment within broadly defined policies and practices to determine best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives. May provide mentoring and guidance to lower level employees.

Responsibilities:

  • Protect HP revenue by anticipating, tracking, analyzing, communicating, and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and other market access requirements in the Americas region, focused on product materials

  • Positioning HP as a materials thought leader in the Americas region

  • Develop materials related influence strategies in the Americas region (including Latin America) with a view to optimize HP’s compliance costs by advocating for regulations and market access requirements that deliver optimum environmental benefit at optimal cost, while providing a level playing field and/or competitive advantage for HP

  • Support the development of longer-term strategies to improve the team’s effectiveness and efficiency in changing industry and regulatory conditions

  • Support implementation of continuous improvements in compliance processes

  • Support or enhance HP’s environmental leadership through external engagements (such as industry associations, conferences, customer events, etc.)

  • Continuously develop skills to enhance personal effectiveness

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Sciences or a related field

  • Strong program and project management skills

  • Experience in Public Policy Development, Regulatory Compliance, Product Development, Materials, Operations, Supply Chain and/or related Business roles; familiarity with product development, manufacturing, product data management and logistics processes

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills tailored to a wide variety of audiences; mastery in English language

  • Experience working in and leading cross-functional teams to accomplish challenging business goals

Desired Education and Experience:

  • Master’s in Engineering, Sciences or a related field

  • Familiarity with HP’s Print and Personal Systems businesses

  • Experience working in and/or leading remote teams

  • Spanish language skills

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Extensive experience with using project and program planning tools and software packages to create, manage, and track project results.

  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Demonstrated business acumen and successful experience managing all aspects of programs, including communicating with stakeholders and directing matrixed teams and resources.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language

  • Ability to effectively communicate program plans, proposals, and results, and negotiate options at senior management levels.

Per the California and Washington statute, the estimated range of compensation for this job in that location, at the time of this posting, is USD $112,500 – $137,000 Annual. This position may be eligible for incentive pay, for openings where this is applicable.
