URMC is seeking Physician Support Specialists for various medical specialties including Orthopedics, Surgical and Imaging. Operating in a fast-paced environment, you’ll work with various Doctors and Physician Assistants while guiding patients through their care plan.

Our Physician Support Specialists work is focused on:

Customer Service: Physician Support Specialists are the front-line problem for communication with the patient, managing and scheduling appointments, patient care plans and other various projects.

Communication: Physician Support Specialists coordinate appointments, follow up on missed appointments and cancellations; and step up to support patient needs by scheduling transportation and other needed services while also assisting with routine administrative questions from patients, Doctors, Physician Assistants and colleagues.

Teamwork: Supporting their team and department colleagues with their tasks and question.

Accuracy: This is one of the most important aspects of our Physician Support Specialists’ work – making sure all patient forms and information are correct and up-to-date ahead of their visit, to minimize visit and patient care errors.

The ideal candidate for an Physician Support Specialist brings at least two years of customer service support or call center experience.
