Under the direction of the Regional Financial Manager, this position is responsible for the supervision of the Nashville Accounting Department staff. Position will ensure an accurate and timely month-end close for multiple facility ledgers as well as Shared Services. It also includes the training and development of the Nashville staff in order to produce Chief Financial Officers for the company. Responsibilities include overseeing the completion of annual tax packages, assisting with annual budgets, cost reports, governmental and other miscellaneous reports. Position will interact with facility CEOs and CFOs; facility Business Office Managers; Regional Directors as well as corporate personnel and government agencies.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervise accounting department staff
Provide financial guidance in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles GAAP Ensure the accurate and timely completion of month-end close, financial packages, monthly financial reviews, annual budgets, as well as balance sheet account reconciliations
Provide accounting personnel with training and development to prepare them for future CFO roles. This includes developing and implementing the CFO training program
Ensure Shared Services month-end close, financial package, annual budget, as well as other financial requirements are successfully completed
Ensure FAS system is updated and accurate monthly
Review of accounts payable batches and vendor set ups as requested
Ensure the accurate completion of tax packages and cost reports
Coordinate the completion of internal and external audits as well as work with auditors on any audit related issues
Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all required reports and accounting data to meet applicable financial deadlines
Complete performance evaluations and personnel issues
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. An individual must be able to perform their duties in a positive work mode and serve as a positive role model and influence for peers.

EDUCATION and REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • Minimum three years supervisory experience in an accounting department preferred
  • Previous experience at a healthcare company also preferred
  • Supervisory skills, self starter, team player, strong communication skills, customer oriented, leadership skills, professionalism
