RIVA Solutions Inc. is seeking a Warehouse Support/Assistant (Supply Technician) to support the Department of Energy at the WAPA DSW office with government property transactions, government vehicle fleet management, and warehouse management. The Warehouse Support/Assistant (Supply Technician) will provide support for the operation and management of the main DSW warehouse located in Phoenix, Arizona and other DSW warehouse locations within the DSW region, as required. The DSW warehousing area(s) consists of approximately 20,000 square feet of covered, environmentally controlled storage, with approximately nine acres of open storage area co-located with the main warehouse facility.

Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of warehousing duties that require an understanding of the establishment's storage plan
  • Verifying materials (or merchandise) against receiving documents,
  • Noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages,
  • Routing materials to prescribed storage locations,
  • Storing, stacking, or palletizing materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods,
  • Rearranging and taking inventory of stored materials,
  • Examining stored materials and reporting deterioration and damage,
  • Removing material from storage and preparing it for shipment
  • May operate hand or power trucks in performing warehousing duties.

Additional Duties include:

  • Utilizing Maximo applications and Oracle Financials software to track and document the movement, usage, receipt, description, etc., of DSW’s warehouse inventories and all DSW purchases of equipment and supplies, including to provide reports, trends for stocked items and other.
  • Utilizing Government furnished Forklifts (inside and outside), pallet jack, scales, and tools, testing equipment, maintenance equipment, servicing equipment, parts, and supplies
  • Maintaining stock replenishment function including the generation of Maximo Re-Order Reports with recommended procurement actions to be submitted to the Property Management Officer (PMO) for review/approval. Inducts purchase requests into Maximo for all approved procurement actions.
  • Maintaining filing system of all pertinent purchasing and receiving documents.
  • Assisting fleet manager with GSA vehicle shuttling,
  • Assist customers with stock requirement needs with coordination and approval of the PMO as required, initiating new stock requests as needed and approved by the PMO,
  • Preparing receiving reports for finance on non-warehouse received items and services,
  • Assisting Federal staff in credit card reconciliation and to provide clerical assistance for warehouse staff.

Material Handling and Storage:

  • Ensuring material is stored safely and in compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), environmental, and other laws and regulations,
  • Ensuring material is handled in a safe, ergonomically correct manner and material- handling equipment is operated in a safe manner,
  • Assisting individuals with storage of materials in warehouse cages/division holding areas, the yard, or on mezzanines

Housekeeping:

  • Performing necessary housekeeping duties to ensure the warehouse and warehouse yard are kept clean, neat, and orderly,
  • Ensuring all material is accurately labeled and stored safely and in a manner to avoid loss,
  • Performing periodic security inspections to ensure gates are locked, there are no penetrations in fencing, and exterior lights are functioning.

Responsible for shipments originating from the main warehouse located in Phoenix, Arizona.

  • Preparing appropriate shipping documents; preparing all shipments; materials shall be securely crated, packaged, or cushioned in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) guidelines,
  • Loading shipments in a manner to remove possibilities of shipping damage,
  • Coordinating with customers and shippers,
  • Following-up on all shipments as necessary.
  • Assisting with the set-up of main conference room tables, chairs, and equipment.

Requirements

  • Ability to pass pre-employment background/security check
  • Working onsite five days per week
  • Familiar with security aspects of material storage to be able to minimize risks.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AS/AA or BA/BS Degree (or equivalent)
  • 2 years’ experience in related field

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $29.43 per hour

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
