Job Title: Supply Chain Associate – Supply Chain Associate II

Location: New Orleans, LA

Salary: $28.75 - $33.75 /hour

Direct Manager: Supply Chain Manager


Position Overview

The Supply Chain Associate will identify and procure materials and services required by the organization, using the approved procedures and best practices. This includes but is not limited to contacting and negotiating with suppliers, creating purchase orders, and reporting to management about progress.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform administration of purchase orders involving medium to high monetary expenditure or risk, engineered technical specifications, or supplementary commercial conditions.
  • Obtain quotes from vendors and achieve cost savings through bidding, and negotiations.
  • Review and analyze vendors bids.
  • Communicate with suppliers and personnel to establish clear definition of requirements, and to assure performance to purchase order terms and conditions.
  • Issue purchase orders and supplements in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all data.
  • Higher levels of this position require increasing degrees of responsibilities and duties.

Minimum Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

Essential

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum of one (1) year of relevant supply chain experience (i.e. purchasing, expediting, warehousing, MRP/ERP system).
  • Experience in Microsoft Excel.
  • Understanding of raw materials, tools, and consumables.
  • Diligence and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Higher levels of this position require increasing degrees of education, years of experience, and professional skills.

Desirable

  • Experience in Microsoft Dynamics 365 (Business Central).
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity.
  • Ability to objectively interpret and analyze data.
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced environment.

Working Conditions

  • Position requires use of computer, telephones, and other office equipment, reading, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening, and hearing ability and visual acuity.
  • Position occasionally requires ability to work in a manufacturing environment and boats from the beginning of production through the sea trails. This includes mobility to work in and around incomplete aluminum hull structures.
  • Ability to lift packages, equipment, etc., up to 20 lbs.
  • Occasional driving of motor vehicles.
