Reporting to the Director of Supply Chain-Drilling, the Supply Chain Analyst’s key focus will be supporting strategic sourcing, on-going contract management, and continuous improvement activities relating to goods and services provided to Patterson-UTI Drilling Company. The Supply Chain Analyst will be responsible for on-going maintenance of system pricing, assisting with RFX preparation and evaluation, developing and distributing SCM KPIs, and supporting capital project purchases. In addition, the Analyst may be required to perform ad hoc market research/analysis, demand profiling, benchmarking, spend monitoring, rogue spend identification, cost savings tracking, review industry publications for best practices, and tracking of industry related indices.

Low to m oderate travel may be required and candidate must be willing to work outside of normal office hours. Detailed Description:

  • Managing/tracking key materials to support operations and optimizing logistics to efficiently manage costs
  • Providing market data to facilitate strategic sourcing and category initiatives
  • Identification and analysis of market data and provision of analytics to support sourcing and/or rate increase/reduction negotiations
  • Collecting and consolidating vendor performance data through scorecards
  • Consolidating all category savings and process innovations for reporting to executives
  • Researching cost data to support creation of Should Cost and other SCM models for strategic categories of spend
  • Monitor strategic contracts and prepare reports based on # of expired, outstanding renewed contracts per category
  • Create and maintain vendor price catalogs
  • Work across the SCM-Procurement and Operational/Technical teams to support implementation of category strategies including: contract awards, supplier performance metrics (where applicable) and ongoing performance improvement initiatives

Job Requirements:

  • Superior analytical skills
  • Ability to develop and apply quantitative economic, should cost and total cost models
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Good customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Negotiation skills sufficient to negotiate low complexity or repeatable purchases
  • Advanced MS Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint knowledge
  • Excellent networking and communication skills complemented by the ability to develop and sustain strategic relationships
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment

Minimum Qualifications

  • Four-Year College Degree in supply chain, finance, engineering, business, or related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of Oil & Gas exploration, drilling and operations

Additional Details:
T h is po siti o n r e q u i r e s t h e p e r s o n to w o r k in b o th o f f ice and field l o c a ti o n s . Variable work hours include regular after-hours, weekend and holiday commitments as well as regular travel within and outside assigned region. Ability to safely navigate drilling and or pressure pumping work sites with occasional walking, climbing, standing, stepping, etc. during normal rig operating conditions (day/night, outdoor hot/cold weather) including proper use of designated personal protective equipment (PPE). Must comply with all Company policies, including requirements for operating a Company vehicle.
