Our vibrant, multiethnic/multicultural church is seeking an individual who will be responsible for reaching out to, caring for and teaching spiritual formation to Students, grades 6-12 in our church and in the wider community. We expect the candidate to have a growing, personal relationship with Christ, and a big heart for Students. This individual should possess good communication skills, an ability to think outside of the box, be able to work as a team player, leader and have efficient organizational skills.

Church Size: 250 to 350
Time: 20-25 hours a week
Rate: Based upon experience and qualifications
Reports to: Lead Pastor

Job Purpose:
To provide spiritual guidance, leadership, and support to the middle/high schoolers of a vibrant multiethnic/multicultural church, helping them to grow in their faith and become committed followers of Jesus Christ.

Key Responsibilities:
● Provide spiritual guidance and support to the middle/high schoolers of the church through one-on-one meetings, small group Bible studies, and student events.
● Plan, organize, and lead regular Student activities, events and retreats that promote spiritual growth and foster community among their peers.
● Develop and implement programs that meet the spiritual, physical, and social needs of the middle/high-schoolers, including mentorship and outreach programs.
● Maintain regular communication with parents and guardians to ensure they are informed about youth activities and to involve them in the youth ministry.
● Collaborate with other church leaders to coordinate Student activities and programs with the overall mission and vision of the church.
● Serve as a role model for middle/high-schoolers, demonstrating a strong personal faith and commitment to Jesus Christ.
● Stay informed about teen culture and trends, and adjust programs and activities accordingly.
● Participate in regular staff meetings and training opportunities to improve skills and stay up-to-date on best practices in Student ministry.

Requirements:
● A growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a commitment to serving Him.
● A bachelor's degree in theology, youth/student ministry, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
● Experience in leading and managing Student programs, volunteers and activities.
● Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with middle/high-schoolers, volunteer/serve teams, parents, and church leaders.
● Ability to work as part of a team and to collaborate with others.
● Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Working Conditions:
● This position requires work in a church environment, with some travel required for Student events and activities.
● Role may require being part of the Sunday morning teaching team several times a year depending upon ministry/teaching experience.
● Additional ministry opportunities as assigned

Hours:
Approximately 20-25 hours per week, with flexibility in scheduling to meet the needs of the
Student ministry.

Compensation:
Commensurate with experience and qualifications.
