POSITION SUMMARY:
The Enrichment Instructor is responsible for ensuring the design, development, and implementation of student centered clubs/programs at Roosevelt High School. The Enrichment Instructor will work with school administration, YMCA leadership, and most importantly students to provide after-school activities including opportunities for service learning, college and career preparation and workshops, social events, civic engagement and action, and leadership development. The Enrichment Instructor will collaborate with and recruit community members/organizations to support student interest areas.

Enrichment Instructors must provide a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment consistent with the program model and goals and ensure the success of students. Enrichment Instructors report directly to the 21CCLC Site Coordinator and Project Director. All 21CCLC positions are dependent on the availability of funds and continuation of the 21CCLCcontract. The current contract provides programming for the following three school years (2021- 2022, 2022-2023, and 2023-2024) with the possibility of extension for an additional two years (2024-2025 and 2025-2026).

QUALIFICATIONS:

Skills/Knowledge:

  • Experience facilitating and/or coaching youth group activities required
  • Experience engaging high school youth in recreation, leadership development, service learning, civic engagement, and other personal development areas
  • Possess a collaborative and flexible mindset that elevates youth voice and provide opportunities in areas where the candidate may not have expertise
  • Customer service oriented with strong interpersonal skills, well organized and multi taskedoriented.
  • Prefer knowledge of and previous experience with diverse populations
  • Must be proficient in Word and Excel programs, with Windows XP, Publisher, Power Point/LCD projector preferred.
  • Ability to operate other software applications as required.

Education/Training:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Experience facilitating preferred.
  • General office operations experience preferred.
  • CPR, AED, and First Aid certified (training available upon hire)

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
