Our Spokane location, Rolled Steel Products Structural Systems (RSPSS), specializes in full-service design and production of steel framed self-storage solutions. We are looking for an experienced structural engineer to join our team in design of self-storage buildings. The ideal candidate will have experience in both light gauge and hot rolled steel design. Multi-story design experience is preferred. This position will perform structural building design from start to finish and work with the CAD staff to produce construction ready plan sets. While there are other engineers on staff to aid in the nuances of our buildings types you will have the opportunity to perform complete building design from start to finish. Therefore the ability to be a self-starter and work independently on projects are a must.


Essential Duties:

  • Develop loading requirements
  • Independently perform building design to meet applicable codes and standards
  • Coordinate with sales staff, project managers and CAD staff to meet project needs
  • Maintain multi-state licensure as our market expands
  • Revise engineering and maintain documentation accuracy as projects evolve
  • Maintain document organization using company standards
  • Perform other duties as required
  • Bring a positive attitude with an understanding of the value of teamwork and outstanding customer service


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other Federal, State and local standards
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance
  • Sit or stand for long periods of time

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering required
  • Minimum three years of applicable structural engineering experience required
  • Four years and Professional Engineering License preferred
  • Revit experience preferred
  • Great analytical skills and detail oriented
  • Experience in the building construction industry preferred
  • Ability to perform self-directed work
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
