Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Stroke Program Coordinator will be responsible for the management of the Stroke Program. You will be the lead facilitator for the hospital departments, physicians, external agencies, nursing staff, and allied healthcare professionals. Our team is amazing and we are looking for someone who has a passion for providing excellent patient care. You will be joining a team that is dedicated to serving others in need and also supporting one another.

In this Coordinator role:

  • You will be responsible for regulatory and stroke certification/designation requirements.
  • You will provide leadership to all members of the Stroke team in utilizing effective approaches in improving Stroke patient outcomes.
  • You will oversee and maintain data collection, trending and outcomes.
  • You will work with all units to ensure standards of Stroke care are met.
  • You will ensure there are Stroke education programs for hospital staff.
  • You will coordinate Stroke Center community outreach activities, Stroke talks at community locations and respond to requests for Stroke information from the press.
  • You will implement quality methodology to improve performance along with concurrent chart review.
  • You will analyze and/or Input data into appropriate databases designated by the hospital.
  • You will assume the day-to-day responsibility for process and performance improvement activities of the program.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in nursing required.
  • Current Idaho RN license required.
  • Two (2) years’ experience, within the last five (5) years, in acute medical/surgical/or ED neurological nursing..
  • Clinical experience with stroke patients preferred. Experience in teaching and/or clinical program development desirable.
  • Current American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and certification required.
  • Recent experience is desirable in acute stroke research or other related area and interventional studies in order to develop and implement stroke awareness, prevention, risk identification, and stoke scale measurements.
  • Leadership and Managerial skills as required by the position.
  • Effective Communication skills
