Work in a team environment to design, implement, and maintain Javabased applications- Develop design specifications and/or translatesdetailed design specs into computer software
- Test, debug, and refine thecomputer software to produce the required product
- Prepare requireddocumentation, including both program-level and user-level documentation
- Troubleshoot and enhances software to reduce operating time or improveefficiency.
A successfulcandidate for this position has the following key skills:
- Proficiency inJava, with a good understanding of its ecosystems
- Soundknowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) Patterns and Concepts
- Familiarity withdifferent design and architectural patterns
- Skill for writingreusable Java libraries
- Knowhow of Javaconcurrency patterns
- BasicUnderstanding of the concepts of MVC (Model-View-Controller) Pattern, JDBC (JavaDatabase Connectivity), and RESTful web services
- Experienceworking with web application frameworks
- RelevantKnowledge of Java GUI frameworks such as Struts, according to projectrequirements
- Ability to writeclean, readable Java code
- Basic knowhow ofclass loading mechanism in Java
- Experience inhandling external and embedded databases
- Understandingbasic design principles behind a scalable application
- Skilled atcreating packages, procedures and functions using PL/SQL
- Basic knowledgeof JVM(Java Virtual Machine), its drawbacks, weaknesses, and workarounds
- Proficiency inJavaScript
- Implementingautomated testing platforms and unit tests
- In-depthknowledge of code versioning tools, for instance, Git
- Understanding ofbuilding tools like Ant, Maven, Gradle, etc
- Expertise incontinuous integration
- Experience withStatewide Automated Child Welfare Information Systems (SACWIS)
