Summary of Job:

The Director is responsible for planning, developing, organizing and maintaining activities assigned. In addition responsible for planning, developing, organizing and maintaining multiple service sites. The Director is also responsible for overseeing and providing start-up as well as administrative processes for new business development, acquisitions and program closures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops, maintains and identifies opportunities for improving quality of services provided.
  • Monitors and evaluates the program's effectiveness including outcome studies, customer satisfaction and contract reporting requirements.
  • Supervises activities of staff and/or students including assignment of duties.
  • Develops and assures implementation of adequate procedures for the referral, admission and discharge process.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Ensures contractual expectations with funders are met.
  • Identifies growth opportunities to expand program offerings.
  • Assures adequate and competent staffing.
  • Ensures Joint Commission standards are followed on a continuous basis.
  • Develops program budget.
  • Oversees the physical plant, environment and equipment, assuring availability of equipment and supplies and compliance with life safety standards, building, fire and sanitation codes.
  • Develops and maintains the delivery of high quality community-based peer/family support services.
  • Coordinates the program's services with external customers.
  • Promotes the growth of services by education and advocacy in the community.
  • Understands and adheres to RI International compliance standards as they appear in the Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policies.
  • Keeps abreast of all federal and state regulations and laws and all RI International policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed must be representative of the knowledge, skills, minimum education, training, licensure, experience, and/or ability required.   • Independent Licensure in good standing in an applicable Behavioral Health field preferred.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Excellent documentation skills
  • Master's Degree in Psychology, Social Work or related field from an accredited college or university preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Social Work or related field from an accredited college or university required and a minimum of five (5) years of behavioral health experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of full-time behavioral health experience.
  • Demonstrated supervisory/management experience in a behavioral health environment required.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience working with the MH/DD/SA population, at least two (2) of which involved proven successful outcomes in program management or administration.

Driving Requirements:

  • If driving is required for this position, must meet all requirements outlined in RI International driving policy.
  • If not qualified to drive per driving policy, a Non-Driver Attestation form must be signed.

A Direct Service Competency Checklist must be completed as part of the new hire onboarding process.

Physical Demands:

May include work close to the eyes and substantial motions of the wrist, hands, and/or fingers. Frequent sitting, standing, walking, handling, finger dexterity; eye-hand-foot coordination, use of corrected vision; color vision; use of auditory senses. May be required to lift up to twenty (20) pounds.

Work Environment

May work in an office environment or behavioral health facility. May have contact with individuals who are agitated and/or confused. Work may include travel throughout the geographic region.
