Staff Accountant (FT) Job at The Menta Group

As a Staff Accountant at The Menta Group, you will support a growing and innovative non-profit organization by working with the Chief Financial Officer, Accounting Manager, and Human Resources Director in supporting accounting, employee organization-wide payroll, and other human resource functions.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist the accounting manager in accounting functions including but not be limited to, AP and AR functions, month-end close, reporting, planning, and HR and Payroll reconciliations.
  • Assist in year-end processes, such as year-end close, annual audits, tax preparation, and budget processes.
  • Provide statistical data and analysis reporting for finance, HR, payroll, and other areas of the organization as needed.
  • Collaborate with the human resource director to process semi-monthly payroll which includes timekeeping management, payroll deductions, garnishments, and leaves of absence.
  • Assist in managing the HRIS system which includes: Employee Records and Documents, Employee Security Access, Learning Management System, and Employee Timekeeping.
  • Provide comprehensive support to the director of human resources and organizational management for tasks including: employment verification processing, onboarding, FMLA processing, workers compensation, 403B processes and audits, and responding to HR/payroll inquiries from approximately 30 locations.
  • Develop and assist in training school managers on accounting and HR functions that are handled at the school level.
  • Participate in organizational projects and software implementations.
  • Stay current with accounting and HR best practices and changes in regulations, implementing changes as needed.
Qualifications:
  • 3 Years Experience in accounting and payroll preferred, but not required.
  • Willingness to innovate and improve current processes to support organizational growth and goals.
  • Experience with accounting systems.
  • Experience with HRIS and payroll systems.
  • Excellent skills and experience in using Microsoft Office. Experience with Google’s office suite (Docs, Sheets, etc.) preferred, but not required.
  • Strong data analysis skills, including excel functionality and other data analysis softwares.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Proper reverence for confidential information and documents.
