Staff Accountant

Purpose:

The Staff Accountant position will ensure accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of assets, revenue, liability, and expense. These duties include compiling and analyzing financial information and preparing journal entries throughout the month. The position will play a key role during month-end closing. The position will have a variety of projects assigned to him or her and will be located in Scottsdale, AZ reporting to the Accounting Manager.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Performs analysis, journal entries and reconciliations primarily related to Accounts Payable
• Manage the RNI (Received Not Invoiced) and DMR (vendor inventory return) processes to ensure liabilities are properly recorded. Pro-actively work with Buyers to identify root cause of aged items and implement actions to minimize issues.
• Monitor travel & expense transactions and approved invoices for compliance with company policies.
• Process daily invoicing including standard shipments, systems deposits, and miscellaneous debits and credits.
• Manage vendor requests in compliance with internal controls policy.
• Assist in gathering information for audits or examinations.
• Performs weekly check runs
• Perform other related responsibilities as needed and as assigned.

Requirements:

• Qualified candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related
• 3 years’ experience in Accounting/AP/AR
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Computer proficiencies (Microsoft Office, Excel) including operating in ERP systems
• Problem solving & analytical skills.
• Proven ability to prioritize objectives and duties independently.
• Sound planning and organizational skills.
• Attention to detail is important.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
