Epsilon Systems Solutions, Inc. is seeking a full time Stabilized Glide Slope Indicator Electrician II in San Diego, CA.

Summary: Subject Matter Expert under limited supervision will provide electrical Stabilized Glide Slope Indicators maintenance and technical support to the customer. This position also provides technical support for alarm, warning and indicator systems installed on U.S. Navy ships.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conducts cableway inspections.
  • Troubleshoots, disassembles, repairs, overhauls, assembles, installs, and tests SGSI equipment including F300, F500, and F600 assemblies and components.
  • Conducts in-shop operational testing upon completion of work on SGSIs in accordance with established procedures.
  • Delivers and picks up SGSI components and parts at the Corrosion Control Shop for preservation.
  • Diagnoses malfunctioning systems, apparatus, or components, using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
  • Inspects electrical systems, equipment, or components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
  • Prepares sketches or follows blueprints to determine the location of wiring or equipment and to ensure conformance to building and safety codes.
  • Conducts research and provides drawings, technical manual information, design specifications, and engineering technical recommendations.
  • Assists ships force with obtaining supply and repair parts information as required.
  • Performs the necessary out briefs to ship's force representatives including ship's officers and supporting personnel as well as briefs to customer management.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience repairing, upgrading and performing condition assessments, performing diagnostic inspections and fault isolation on Stabilized Glide Slope Indicators.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and follow detailed written instructions, or drawings and to conduct activities in a safe manner
  • Ability to make decisions using sound judgment while complying with policies, procedure appropriate principles and applicable state and federal laws and regulations
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Possess an active DOD Secret security clearance
  • Certified NAVSEA Cableway Inspector
  • Certified Shipyard Competent Person (SYCP)
  • Performed related work in a senior enlisted or commissioned officer active duty position

ADA Notations:

  • Requires walking, reaching, sitting and concentration in the presence of occasional noise
  • Ability to move in narrow and restricted passageways, up/down steep and narrow ladders or stairways, and up and down antenna masts/yardarms (onboard ships)
  • Ability to lift, carry and move objects up to 50 lbs. in weight
  • Ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer)
  • Ability to wear face covering while working
  • Office, warehouse, laboratory, pier side, shipboard
  • Noise conditions range from very quiet to loud noise
