About the Role:
Responsible for leading the manufacturing processes and daily operations across multiple functions. Set and drive production goals to meet daily production schedule, quality standards, and safe work practices. This role works and collaborates across other functional areas to ensure both customer and business needs are met. Leadership in this role encourages and enables the team while also holding employees accountable for individual and team performance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Meet manufacturing goals by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; developing personal growth opportunities.
  • Maintain workflow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
  • Complete production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.
  • Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
  • Ensure operation of equipment by calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques
  • Provide manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data; answering questions and responding to requests.
  • Create and revise systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control, and budgetary and personnel requirements; implementing change.
  • Maintain safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Resolve personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action.
  • Must adhere to all standard and specialized PPE requirements at all times.



Education / Training / Certification:

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college / university OR 10+ years of experience in a supervisory role in manufacturing in lieu of educational background
Preferred:
  • Lean or Six Sigma certification
Skills (Technical):

Required:
  • Experience with production planning, controls, and instrumentation
  • Experience with financial planning and strategy, as well as tracking budget expenses
  • Highly proficient using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Preferred:
  • Experience working in E1 (JD Edwards)

Skills (Interpersonal):

Required:
  • Teach and enable employees to drive continuous improvement efforts.
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish, both written and verbal.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to identify operational deficiencies through data and drive improvements using internal tools.
  • Results: Ability to deliver sustainable results that align with Company and functional priorities.

  • Communication: Ability to effectively communicate goals, priorities, changes, instructions, safety, and other important key messages.
Physical Requirements:

Required:
  • Ability to work 1st shift (6am PST start-time)
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to lift and move items or boxes up to 30 pounds
