Job Summary

The Senior Principal Integration Engineer leads the development of a state-of-the-art integration / middleware strategy and architecture and guides the development of high-performance integration applications and frameworks in support of strategic initiatives. Core responsibilities of this hands-on role include assessing needed changes to the integration architecture, defining proper use of integration technologies & patterns, enterprise level API and Web Service identification, and the development of management processes to govern the integration layer. The Senior Principal Integration Engineer will contribute to the development of roadmaps and migration plans for integration of business systems, and infrastructure to streamline interfaces, reduce redundancy and business costs. The Senior Principal Integration Engineer must have a strong hands-on development track record building integrations utilizing a variety of integration products, tools, protocols, technologies, and patterns.

The Senior Principal Integration Engineer creates Integration-related reference architecture frameworks and patterns and drives the creation of integration-specific blueprints and roadmaps. The role is a subject matter expert and advisor who adopts best practices and ensures alignment with the future state integration reference architecture. This individual will provide direction and subject matter expertise on Omni-channel integration architectures and technologies such as SOA, WebLogic, Service Bus, API, Micro Services patterns, Mobile Back End, Cloud, Hybrid deployment model, iPaaS platforms like Boomi etc. This role may also be responsible for integration DevOps including continuous integration / continuous deployment.

Essential Job Functions

  • Perform an active, leading role in shaping, building and enhancing overall integration architecture, helping to define the future state architectural blueprint and develop roadmaps to get there
  • Actively develop solutions to contribute to enterprise class integration and middleware software development best practices, standards and procedures
  • Lead the architecture, design and development for migration to the new Integration platform as a Service from the current Oracle SOA platform
  • Collaborate through effective communications with Business Analysts, Data Modelers, SMEs and Data governance liaisons to achieve a very good understanding of the integration requirements of their projects and then design and develop sustainable integration applications to address those requirements
  • Plan and execute regular patching cycles to stay current on security and other application patches
  • As part of run operations, monitor the integration platform for any errors/ delays in transaction flow and take appropriate steps to fix the root cause of the issues
  • Design integration solutions and produce all design phase deliverables including technical design documents, flowcharts, data transformations, mappings, routing etc. evaluating impacts to performance and scale to support policies and SLAs as required.
  • Manage, & be actively involved during build phase and quality assurance of code to ensure fulfilling requirements and adhering to integration architecture.
  • Ensure necessary development and testing practices are engaged for all projects to ensure the quality and supportability of all delivered solutions
  • Maintain the appropriate balance between the needs of the enterprise and specific initiatives and delivery timeframes
  • Analyze data-related systems integration opportunities and challenges, validating data models from a data integration perspective for current projects as well as other impacted projects and drive quality improvements
  • Demonstrate and deliver on depth and breadth of technical and business/partner expertise (knowledge and skills)
  • Deliver innovative strategies to achieve business/partner goals beyond scope of duties
  • Work collaboratively with engineers, stakeholders, executives, and end-users to bring the concepts to life
  • Remain current with evolving industry trends and technologies.
  • Work with stakeholders during the requirement gathering and acceptance testing process
  • Other duties as directed by management
  • Investigate technologies that can be leveraged in various product implementations

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, other related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 8+ years overall IT system architecture, design, development, deployment experience.
  • Must demonstrate very sound and in-depth understanding of SOA/EAI/ESB concepts, SOA Governance, Event Driven Architecture, message-based architectures, file sharing and exchange platforms, data virtualization and caching strategies, design patterns, frameworks and Enterprise Architecture
  • Is proficient & hands-on in Oracle SOA Suite, WebLogic & OOPS languages such as Java
  • Experience with Message Queuing Platforms such as JMS, Solace etc.
  • Knowledge of other integration cloud platforms such as Boomi is preferred
  • Advanced skills implementing API Service architectures (SOA, REST) using any of the market leading API Management tools
  • Significant understanding of cloud architectures & patterns (AWS, Oracle, etc.)
  • Demonstrated knowledge in any of the CI/CD tools, and in its usage for support of continuous integration & deployment.
  • Strong experience with XML/XSL/XSLT/XSD, JAXDB, SOAP, WSDL, HTTP, REST, APIs
  • 5+ Years Java experience with JEE framework
  • Proven hands-on experience leading, architecting, designing, and implementing large scale, high transaction volume, and high availability integration projects.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of broad enterprise architecture concepts, disciplines, and capabilities
  • Proven expertise with a track record of solution delivery using various data integration solutions in situations requiring real time (synchronous and asynchronous) messaging, Publish/Subscribe models, Microservices patterns, Middleware, Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) and other related methodologies in a multi-user, multi-platform, multi-tier environment
  • Working knowledge and experience in online transactional (OLTP) processing and analytical processing (OLAP) databases and schemas.
  • Accustomed to working under pressure and to deadlines while adjusting to rapidly changing priorities
  • Works well in a collaborative, cross functional, and multi-cultural environment with onshore/offshore teams
  • Good oral and written communication skills in English
