Sr. Maintenance Technician - Assembly Job at Altra Industrial Motion Corp.
Opportunity for a Senior Maintenance Technician to join our team and be responsible for troubleshooting Laser Welders, Heat Transfer Mold Machines, Presses, and other equipment used in the Assembly environment. They will be responsible for preventative and predicative maintenance of the facility. Additionally, they will drive improvements to its systems and contribute to repairs and assistance as required. This person will participate in the company-wide lean conversion process, which will have an impact on safety, quality, delivery and cost. They will be available as an emergency contact for off-shift and weekend maintenance issues. This position includes the opportunity to select health insurance and sign up for a 401k matching fund. It is located at our climate-controlled facility in West Chester, PA.
What You’ll Do
- Ensure planned maintenance procedures are completed including troubleshooting hydraulics, electronics, software, electrical, pneumatic and mechanical systems
- Investigate equipment failures to diagnose improper operation, remediate, and recommend future preventative maintenance to avoid in the future
- Perform machine and equipment installation, relocation, removal/salvage, and repairs
- Manage and perform maintenance duties or work with team members to accomplish the needs
- Manage, track, perform, and continually improve Preventative Maintenance (PM) program for the facility as well as train maintenance team members on PM tasks and process changes
- Manage, teach, and perform repairs and maintenance plan for physical structure and generator, power, HVAC, and other
- Order any related equipment items as needed or delegate tasks to maintenance team
- Manage maintenance and paperwork for company transportation vehicle
- Research, design, evaluate, install, and generate maintenance records for equipment needed to meet operational requirements
- Call in as necessary and manage outside services personnel when on site
- Create necessary P.O.s in Oracle to make purchases related to maintenance
- Act as point of contact and on-site knowledge expert for hazardous materials
- Lead by example for safety and quality through discipline to 5S program
Critical Competencies
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Ability to read pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical schematics
- Computer and database skills
- Leadership and team management skills
- Problem solving skills and critical thinking in order to design, develop, execute, and improve systems
- Understanding of lean culture and systems
- Knowledge of engineering and technology to apply these principals to equipment selection, design, and procurement, installation, application, and repair
- Drive to learn new principles and skills for continuous improvement
- Flexible work schedule and ability to work overtime when needed
Job Requirements:
- 5+ years’ experience relevant to maintenance, required
- Specific experience with Laser Welding (IPG, Hans, Laserstar, Unitek) or Gluco mold machines, preferred
- Previous experience with machinery, plumbing, and electrical work required
