Strategically and technically leads all aspects of the PTS (Production Technology Support) processes within the site in order to drive transformational change and increase efficiency within the Production environment. This position has the responsibility of aligning PTS strategies through execution of projects that are aligned with the site strategy and KPIs.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Drive PTS improvements t identification by partnering with the Functional Area Heads and relevant local stakeholders. PTS initiatives must be integrated with site strategy/business plan(s), Regulatory Agencies, and established global and local BI processes and practices. Lead the overall strategy and planning of the PTS team to ensure quality implementation according to clearly detailed expectations and requirements.
  • Direct, develop and mentor employees to overall success of team. Add value, and advance by leading, supporting, coaching, suggesting alternatives, providing insight, and removing obstacles.
  • Evaluate, and recommend PTS projects/changes within Production that support process improvement and efficiencies. Identify and effectively utilize necessary resources and skill sets required to advance the team/projects and long term team sustainability. Consult resources to benchmark internal skills and performance and adjust accordingly. Develops visibility outside of functional area and effectively interacts scientifically with Key Opinion Leaders in relevant fields of concern. Effectively liaises internally with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Establishes and drives initiatives to ensure the development, implementation, and sustainment of new/automated processes and strategies. Implement and monitor product and process improvement practices and procedures. Ensure key deliverables relating to product and process quality, cost and schedule adherence are met. Support and/or coordinate the launch of products.
  • Develop, maintain, and execute a clear and compelling improvement strategy within the site through partnership with the local leaders and stakeholders. Act as an active “Champion of Change” looking to promote a winning vision that is consistent with the site and global strategies through identification of PTS approaches that are aligned with the site's overall strategy.
  • Leads strategic scientific experiments to include development of new methodologies, protocols and/or test procedures that contribute to core group/research goals and reflect expert knowledge. Directs and oversees experimental study design and data analysis/results within PTS team. Interacts with International Project Leaders within the Core Team in reporting of project progress, including budgetary responsibilities to steering committees.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in manufacturing, pharma technology, biology, business or related field.
  • Must have a minimum of eight (8) years of PTS/scientific experience within a GMP biological vaccine and/or pharmaceutical production environment. Experience must be inclusive of a minimum of five (5) years leading people, large teams and complex projects.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage smaller projects or sub-projects independently and plan appropriately.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with project management software.
  • Ability to be creative and innovative to develop potential resolutions to project obstacles.
  • Shares expertise in a state of the art vaccine manufacturing facility.
  • Strategic leader with influence to impact/improve processes in support of the business.
  • Sound financial skills related to budgeting and cost control.
  • Execution and compliance at all times with departmental safety, quality, operational procedures, machine manuals and training manuals, cGmp’s and company policies and procedures are required.
  • The position has contact with all levels of internal customers and must be able to discuss issues and ideas with an open mind and even temper.
  • Requires the performance of duties which are non-standardized.
  • Requires process improvement mindset.
Eligibility Requirements:
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
  • Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required).
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
