The Minot Daily News has an opening for a full-time sports writer for the Minot Daily News, a six-day newspaper based in Minot, North Dakota, covering sports and recreation in and around Minot and surrounding communities. You will cover high school sports, Minot State University sports, and other recreational sports activities.
We’re looking for a sports writer who enjoys watching sports as much as telling the story of what they've watched. A heavy focus on local high school sports and telling the stories of student-athlete achievements is key!
We will consider an entry-level or veteran sports writer who is comfortable with all forms of photography, videography, digital, and social media. The key traits that we are looking for are people skills, writing ability, self-motivation, and a willingness to learn.
The Minot Daily News is part of Ogden Newspapers, Inc. Founded in 1890, Ogden Newspapers has since grown to more than 40 daily newspapers, several weeklies, and a magazine division stretching from New York to Hawaii.
