ZEISS is looking for a microscopy Operations Coordinator for the newly built Solutions Center at the Florida Atlantic University Campus in Jupiter, Florida. The Solution Center Operations Coordinator performs a variety of tasks associated with material resource management and strategic planning of day-to-day operations at our ZEISS Microscopy Solutions Center. You will closely coordinate and facilitate events between several departments within the organization to achieve excellence in microscopy solutions training for both employees and customers. The scope of the role includes organizing both customer and internal events, ownership of shipping & logistics, and inventory and data management.
Success requires strong organizational, communication and time management skills. The ability to work in a highly collaborative and dynamic environment are essential. At all times, conduct in accordance with company guidelines and standards is expected. Outstanding people skills to engage with customers but also with the ZEISS colleagues is required to be successful in this role. Ability to work in a diverse team, and lab management skills are required.
Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate with our training group, field sales, and applications team to organize customer & employee visits to the center. Actions include choreographing the entire visit by organizing travel and accommodation for the visitors.
  • Develop and implement processes for the efficient operations of the center, including sample management, ordering lab supplies, and general solutions center guidelines.
  • Take ownership to organize events such as employee bootcamps, customer workshops, product launch trainings, and microscopy user meetings by coordinating with multiple departments within the organization.
  • Maintain tracking mechanisms to measure the activities at the center using MS Office – training events, lab supplies, sales activities, system performance, inventory, and expense management.
  • Work closely with internal teams to schedule instrument shipping and receiving of microscopes to the center.
  • Support the off-site warehouse with inventory management, organization, and moving of crates and boxes.
  • Assist in maintaining new tools and applications using the Microsoft 365 suite for efficient operations of center.
You are someone with:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in biological sciences, or related science degrees is required.
  • 3+ years of work experience in a core facility or a research lab.
  • Excellent communication skills required.
  • Working experience of microscopes is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of the local solutions center campus (E.g. Jupiter, FL) is a bonus.
  • Strong customer service, organization skills and leadership skills preferred.
  • Experience advanced MS Excel, PowerBI and Sharepoint management is advantageous.
  • Adept in MS Office 365 (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
