Position Summary:


Individuals in this role collaborate extensively with the development team and stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle in order to achieve product success by effectively transitioning requirements to developers, verifying solutions meet customer needs, and transitioning solutions to Operations teams. This person will be responsible for understanding customer needs, goals and the problems to be solved; and will assist the Product Owner to ensure work items are well defined and understood prior to development execution. They serve as a subject matter expert for the Time & Attendance domain and would assist the Implementation team and Channel Partners on configuration, testing, training, and support of clients during the Early Adopter release cycle.

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or computer-related field or equivalent combination of education and related work experience
  • 1-5 years of experience in a requirements gathering and business analysis role for software
  • Experience working with time and attendance systems, IT application development or concepts
  • Excellent problem solving and written and verbal communications skills, with proven ability to work directly with customers at both the technical and business level
  • Excellent technical writing skills required
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences required
  • Knowledge of the software development lifecycle required
  • Strong in User Story definition and acceptance criteria creation
  • Knowledgeable on various technology platforms with respect to workflow and usage models (desktop clients, web, tablet, smartphone)
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills including but not limited to Visio and PowerPoint experience
  • Proficient experience resolving technical and client business issues.
  • Ability to work independently in a self-directed manner under frequently changing and competing requirements and work priorities

Qualifications Desired:

  • Understanding of Agile software development concepts
  • Experience in Persona creation
  • Knowledgeable with prototyping software, such as Balsamiq and Axure
  • Knowledge of user experience and general software design concepts
  • Experience writing and executing test cases to support User Acceptance Testing

Essential Job Functions:

  • Supports software requirements analysis and definition process
    • Collaborate closely with Clients (customers) and Teams to ask fact-finding questions to gain a comprehensive understanding of client’s business needs, work streams, and process needs and assist in defining the software requirements.
    • Research customer processes, needs and perceptions to become immersed in the end-user experience
    • Use Case Development
    • Support transition of requirements to development through ongoing collaboration
    • Coordinate with Clients, advisory boards, Sales and Support organizations on product suggestions
    • Assist with product backlog grooming activities
    • Support the Product Owner by discussing business and technical impacts of, and dependencies related to, priority decisions
  • Supports verification and feedback of new solutions and production systems
    • Day-to-day collaboration with Developers and project teams to clarify functional specifications for features
    • Generate internal and client-facing documents that include mockups or wireframes of proposed functionality
    • Conduct show-and-tells with stakeholders to gain early market feedback
    • Develop test plans and conduct analysis to ensure software changes are successful; partners closely with software development and project teams to collaborate on ideas/changes/resolutions as needed.
    • Serve as escalation from Operations teams with implementation or customer issues
    • Work directly with customers to help diagnose urgent issues
    • Analyze issues, determine root cause, proactively research and apply knowledge to resolve the new issues and issues of varying degrees of complexity with or without software development
  • Supports transition of new solutions to Operations Teams and Clients
    • Create detailed functionality breakdowns
    • Conduct training webinars for project teams to develop production deliverables
    • Validate all written documentation for assignments are accurate and complete
    • Lead implementation of new solutions during Early Adopter release cycle and serve as mentor to operations teams through the transition phase
  • In-depth understanding of Time & Attendance principles and software
  • Experience working in a software development environment
  • Proficient with the Microsoft office software suite
  • Positive customer facing experience
  • Travel - minimal
