Job Description

FIS Management Services, LLC seeks Software Engineer Senior in Owings Mills, Maryland to develop core versions of software applications for sale to external clients. Identify client purchasing requirements and technical specifications through product management and client representatives. Interact with engineering groups to assist in design changes to equipment and software. Train and communicate with clients on systems application. Analyze, design, program, debug and modify software enhancements and new products used in local, networked or Internet-related computer programs. Interact with product managers and users to define system requirements and necessary modifications. Participate in software design meetings and analyze user needs to determine technical requirements. Write technical specifications based on conceptual design and stated business requirements. Write code, complete programming, and perform testing and debugging of applications using current programming languages and technologies. Complete documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance. Train and communicate with internal client training, client relationship and sales teams on systems application. Responsible for developing /executing project plans, budgets, and schedules and documenting work and results. Deliver informational and decision-seeking presentations to technical and business groups to internal and external audiences. Design, development, and maintenance of data assets and semantic layers in architecture. Analyzing data and Business Intelligence needs, recommend and implement solutions. Perform analysis, modeling, and transformations of information as it relates to business requirements for in-house builds. Facilitate issues, monitor BI Architecture, and identify gaps, risks, and areas for improvement. Provide documented options and benefits and risks that can be used as input into project decisions related to the final BI Design.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or related occupation: conducting data analysis and predictive analytics using SQL, Python, Microsoft Access database, DB Visualizer and MicroStrategy; utilizing data modelling and data warehouse to develop schema, data sets and techniques for performance tuning; utilizing tools and technologies including SQL, Dashboard Development, and business intelligence tools including MicroStrategy; report scheduling using Command manager and AutoSys scripts; integrating BI Dashboards within client-facing portals. Telecommuting and/or working from home is permissible pursuant to company policies. In the alternative, the employer will accept a master’s degree or foreign equivalent in one of the above-listed fields and three (3) years of experience in the above-listed areas.
