    We expect that all staff members make a significant contribution in the broader life of our school through extending their leadership to our school committees, professional learning teams and in the co-curricular arena. We want pro-active support programs that may be after school to engage our diverse community.

    Social Science Teacher – 1.0 FTE
    • State of Illinois Professional Educators License (PEL) with a Senior HS Social Science
    • Endorsement. AP Psychology preferred. EL endorsement preferred.
    • The applicant must be an experienced, outstanding educator and be willing to teach all levels of Social Science, including LEP (Limited English Proficiency).
    • AP experience preferred.
    • Must be able and willing to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
    • Demonstrate knowledge in and has experience in the application of culturally responsive teaching practices in the classroom.
    • Must work effectively within our Professional Learning Team model, which means working with teams of teachers to develop creative instructional strategies and resources, based on best practices, which enable our students to exceed state goals and standards.
    • It is an expectation that the teacher will utilize research-based instructional strategies for
    • increasing student achievement and strive to become a distinguished educator.
    • Must be well-versed in a wide variety of assessment practices that maximize student learning (formative, summative, selected response, extended written response, performance based).
    • Demonstrate a wide variety of instructional methods and practices to meet individual student needs.
    • Provide opportunities for students to achieve daily objectives.
    • Communicate with students and parents regarding student progress.
    • Establish and maintain a professional growth plan.
    • Possess and continue to develop technology skills.
    • Coordinate and share instructional lessons with other team members.
    • Assist in implementation of school-wide improvement plan.
    • Perform other tasks assigned by building administration or designee.
    • Support building extracurricular activities as a coach or sponsor.
