Site Manager – Solar/BESS Utility Site

We are looking for a Site Manager to join our growing team in Angleton, Texas. The Site Manager will be responsible for overseeing the operation and maintenance of the Solar/BESS site, ensuring optimal performance, and managing a team of technicians. The Site Manager will be responsible for ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements (i.e., NERC and ERCOT), and maintaining positive relationships with stakeholders, including the local community, landowners, and utilities.


What you'll be doing as a Site Manager:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the Solar/BESS site.
  • Manage a team of technicians to ensure safe and efficient operation and maintenance of the site.
  • Ensure optimal performance of the site, including managing and analyzing production data, identifying, and resolving issues, and implementing improvements to maximize efficiency.
  • Follow OEM specific maintenance requirements in addition to company standards and industry best practices i.e., NETA MTS, CSA Z463, NFPA 70E, etc.
  • Follow all Health and Safety policies to maintain a zero-incident workplace.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage periodic deliverables for NERC/ERCOT compliance; coordinating with Spark Power's internal compliance team
  • Develop and implement procedures and protocols for the operation and maintenance of the site.
  • Manage and monitor budgets and expenses for the site.
  • Manage site inventory and spare parts management, including submission and tracking of warranty claims.
  • Communicate with the Spark Power Renewable Operations Center (ROC) regarding site outage and performance analytics.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the operation and maintenance of utility-scale solar sites.
  • Experience operating a NERC facility is strongly desired.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a team effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze and interpret production data.
  • Strong understanding of safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to maintain positive relationships with stakeholders.
  • Experience with budgeting and expense management.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Experience with SCADA systems is a plus.
  • Knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) an asset.
  • Work in adverse weather conditions and extreme temperatures.
  • Valid Driver's License with clean driving record.
  • Must be able to lift 75 lbs.
