JOB DESCRIPTION
TITLE: Bayfield Site Coordinator
DEPARTMENT: Program
REPORTS TO: Director of Programs and Outreach

JOB SUMMARY:
Create a safe and enriching after school environment for Kindergarten to 8th grade students by planning and implementing meaningful activities, providing time for homework completion, tutoring and academic enrichment, recruiting community partners to facilitate activities at the schools, supervising Program Assistants, communicating with school day staff and parents, and completing necessary paperwork.

WORK SCHEDULE

Must be available to work Friday (7:15am-4pm) and dedicated 2-5 hours/week to program planning. This is a part-time position with approximately 10-15 hours/week.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Promote safety of members, quality in programs, and appearance of the
site at all times.

2. Provide guidance and role modeling to members.

3. Promote and stimulate program participation, welcome new members and participate in their orientation process.

4. Participate in weekly staff meetings.

5. Assist in planning and conducting programs and activities.

6. Recognize youth for participation in program activities.

7. Maintain the cleanliness of the program area on an ongoing basis.

8. Maintain daily contact with staff, students, supervisor and volunteers to receive/provide information, discuss issues, and understand guidelines/instructions.

9. Follow all Covid-19 procedures and protocols which includes weekly testing.

10. Performs other duties as assigned.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE PREFERRED:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Experience in working with children.
  • Knowledge of youth development.
  • Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems.
  • Ability to deal with the general public.
  • Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth.
  • Ability to organize and supervise youth in a safe environment.
  • Mandatory CPR and First Aid Certifications (or the ability to be certified).
