We are searching for a Shipping & Receiving Specialist to join our Manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have prior shipping/receiving, material handling and inventory control experience in a manufacturing setting, great attention to detail, exceptional follow-through, basic computer proficiency, and be comfortable working in a fast paced environment. Preparation of materials for shipment will require the ability to lift and transport packages up to 70 lbs.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate outbound domestic and international shipments of samples, bulk materials and equipment utilizing logistics providers
  • Confer and correspond with logistics provider to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages and nonconformance to specifications, etc.
  • Verify inbound shipments against bill of lading and receive in LX and AssetWise.
  • Determine time to order Bulk raw materials to maintain appropriate inventory quantities.
  • Obtain & package sample or bulk materials for shipment
  • Provide bulk tank offload
  • Coordinate the removal of special and non-special waste from site while also creating profiles for material not currently approved for disposal.
  • Stage and palletize product in warehouse
  • Conduct physical inventories of raw materials and packaging materials; order materials as needed
  • Maintain boiler water and cooling water chemistry within specifications; work with vendors to ensure all water chemistry treatment chemicals and analysis chemicals are adequately stocked
  • Work with Maintenance manager to assist with inventory and purchase of routine maintenance spares
  • Work with Shift Supervisors to assist with inventory and purchase of routine operating spares
  • Work with Operations department to coordinate disposition of process waste to applicable agencies
  • Conduct routine safety inspections
  • Ship/receive hazardous materials according to safety guidelines
  • Perform general cleanup
  • Operate dolly, pallet jack, forklift, banding equipment and other tools or equipment as needed including company rental vehicle to transport product between facilities
  • Committed to continuous improvement, workplace safety and adherence to policies and procedures


Job Requirements

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2-years’ experience staging product, forklift truck operation and inventory control
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
  • Basic math & calculation skills & computer literacy required
  • Previous Fed Ex, UPS or logistics experience preferred
  • Previous experience shipping/receiving hazardous materials preferred
  • Time management and organizational skills with attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Highly motivated with integrity, initiative, and adaptability
  • Flexibility with regard to hours and scheduling
  • Ability to lift or transport packages up to 70 lbs.


RATE

Starting rate of $25 to $26/per hour
