Description:Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control's (MFC) Pike County Operations site in Troy, AL is a multi-shift, manufacturing facility which integrates complex mechanical and electronic assemblies. The facility specializes in both low volume / high mix and high-volume production that has a combination of automated processes as well as labor intensive manufacturing. Pike County Operations has a manufacturing workforce that is supported by a strong engineering and operations support team.

This position will be a part of the Production, Planning and Control organization as a leader managing the Internal and External Shipping and Logistics activities for the Pike County Operations site. Functional areas of responsibility include (1) shipping scheduling, (2) packaging engineering functions, (3) DOT compliance assurance, and (4) direct customer interaction.

Overseeing management and staffing of approximately 5-10 direct reports.

Working outside of normal operating hours as required.

Troy, Alabama is located in the East Gulf Coastal Plains region of southeastern Alabama. Troy's climate is typical of areas along the Gulf of Mexico in that it has hot, humid summers and mild winters.

Where can you get to from Troy? Our facility in Troy is just under an hour south of Montgomery, Alabama. Troy is about 2.5 hours north of the Gulf of Mexico and Fort Walton Beach and Florida's Pan Handle. Troy is about three hours from Atlanta, GA
Basic Qualifications:
Appropriate degree from an accredited college at the Bachelor level or above or equivalent experience / combined education

Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance and must have at a minimum an interim Secret security clearance prior to start

Demonstrated ability and experience communicating with peers, leadership, internal, and external customers effectively on multiple platforms (face-to-face, virtually, email, skype, etc.)

Demonstrated ability to work independently and make effective decisions

Demonstrated proficient knowledge of computer systems, office applications and warehouse management systems

Ability to train and become certified in all processes and procedures applicable to packaging and shipping

Coordinate and manage logistics support activities for multiple programs domestic and international

Understanding / ability to train and certify in 49 CFR, IATA, and IMO / IMDG HAZMAT transportation courses

Ability to read, understand, and develop written instruction from technical drawings and documents

Ability to work additional time outside of normal work schedule.

Candidate must be able to pass a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives ("ATF") background check to obtain approval to be an "employee possessor" (of explosives or other ATF-regulated items) as defined by ATF regulations. Failure to obtain and retain employee possessor status may result in revocation of an offer and loss of employment
Desired Skills:
Background working knowledge of Package Engineering practices.

Receiving / Shipping inspection background is a plus

SAP, WEB Based Shipper, Government Bills of Lading, and DOD forms working knowledge

Ability to work and understand DOD requirements for delivery of assets to various DOD locations

Knowledge of the following:

  • DoD 4145 - DoD Contractor's Safety Manual

  • Knowledge of Defense Transportation Regulation (DTR) 4500 Chapters 204 and 205

Current active certifications in the following:

  • Hazardous Material Training 49 CFR

  • International Air Transport Association (IATA)

  • The International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) Code

  • The Air Force Manual (AFMAN)
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
