Shipping and Receiving Clerk Job at InDemand Services
$13 - $16 an hour
Position Summary
InDemand Services is looking for a shipping and receiving clerk to accept and process deliveries. The receiving clerk's responsibilities may include verifying delivered items, unloading trucks, ensuring items are stored correctly, and processing returns.
To be successful as a shipping and receiving clerk you should be able to inspect deliveries with great attention to detail and be in good physical condition to lift and move heavy items. Ultimately, a top shipping and receiving clerk should be able to ensure efficient processes and promptly resolve any problems or discrepancies.
Job Responsibilities:
Order pulling, shipping, receiving, putting up stock, and pressing fork lift tires
Inventory control to include cycle counts of stockroom, vans and customer consignments
Process inbound and outbound parts returns
Maintain records, files, and a clean and safe working environment
Load, unload, sort, segregate and distribute material to desired locations
Prepare, package & palletize (as required) materials for shipment across North America and Europe
Strictly follow all safety requirements for hand and power tool operation, truck docking, forklift and hoist operation, and housekeeping
Capacity to assist with rigging and use of overhead hoist for offloading heavy equipment from flatbed trucks and sea containers
Safely transport products and materials to and from specified locations in a timely manner
Material handling for various work areas within the organization
Keep shipping area orderly and remove waste in a timely manner
Perform additional duties and assignments as directed by management
Qualifications:
Must have 6 months experience in warehouse structure
High school diploma or GED
Good math, reading, writing, and communication skills
Sorting and grouping skills
Must be able to read and understand the difference in product labels and load ticket instructions
Preferred Forklift experience and certification
Exceptional organization skills
Ability to safely operate lift trucks
Mechanical aptitude preferred
Ability to operate a computer is required
Detail and quality oriented
Good attendance and reliable
Physical Demands
Lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying up to 40 pounds regularly
Lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying up to 60 pounds occasionally
Walking frequently
Driving frequently
Reaching, bending, twisting, stooping, and squatting frequently
Regularly required to speak, see, and hear
