JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for all aspects of Supervision for Residence workers within the program. Ensuring that quality services are provided effectively and in accordance with guidelines established by OTDA, DHS, CHI, and other funding sources as appropriate.

Pay: $24.04 per hour

Schedule: Must be available for a weekend shift- 12am-8am schedule or 8am-4pm schedule.

JOB-RELATED DUTIES – ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Under the direction of the Program Director, the Shift Supervisor will work as part of an interdisciplinary team. The Shift Supervisor will supervise the overall running of the site as directed by the Program Director.

  • Supervises and supports the Residence workers.
  • Ensures the safety and security of the facility.
  • Screens all clients and visitors entering the facility.
  • Educates clients about the program policies and procedures.
  • Ensures that clients properly sign in and out of the facility in accordance with applicable rules.
  • De-escalates potential crisis situations and documents all situations and interventions.
  • Conducts rounds (roves) throughout and around the facility including all hallways, stairwells, floors, bathrooms, and other common areas as well as the perimeter of the building.
  • Audits logs, incident reports and all other required documentation to ensure compliance with applicable rules and regulations.
  • Monitors video surveillance cameras, and fire prevention/detection alarm notification system.
  • Conducts fire drills, evacuate the building when necessary, utilizing fore procedures; and
  • Assists the management team in communication as well as being an on-call supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Required Vaccination against Covid-19
  • Education: GED or HS diploma required, BSW or MSW from an accredited university or related field of study preferred. Extensive experience (4+ years) in the field or security can override education requirement.
  • Experience: minimum 2 years’ experience working in a homeless shelter or program for at-risk individuals.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours, nights and/or weekends and overtime, if necessary.
  • Certificates or Licenses: Valid Security Guard 8 hour and 16-hour certificates
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in English required. Bi-lingual (Spanish) is prioritized.
  • First Aid/CPR Certification and Food Handler’s Certificate (must have upon hire or within 60 days of hire)
  • F-80 Fire Safety Coordinator certification, required (or ability to obtain F80 certification within 60 days of hire)
  • Computer Skills: Basic competency in MS Windows, MS Office, and on the Internet.
  • Physical Performance: Ability to tour properties, walk distances, climb stairs, etc.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to prioritize, make appropriate decisions and judgment calls.
  • Other Skills: Ability to work independently or as part of a team, be highly organized, assume responsibility, work well under pressure, meet deadlines, multitask, be flexible, and maintain a high level of attention to details. Must be even-tempered, have good negotiation skills, and the ability to meet unexpected deadlines. Effective time management skills.
