Position Summary

We currently have an wonderful opportunity for a Sheet Metal Supervisor. This position will supervise, coordinate, and participate in all activities within the sheet metal dept. If you have experience as a leader and or knowledge of machines and planning of production schedules, then we want to hear from you!

Essential Functions:

  • Supervises, coordinates, and participates in all activities of sheet metal workers’ activities in the Sheet Metal Department.
  • Studies production schedule and estimates worker-hour requirements for completion of job assignments. Plans and coordinates production schedule.
  • Examines sample products for adherence to specifications.
  • Observes workers and machines to detect errors or malfunctions and orders corrective actions.
  • Prepares production cost estimates for new products.
  • Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties.
  • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules, using knowledge of capabilities of machines and equipment.
  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product, and suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of department or work crew.
  • Maintains time and production records.
  • Estimates requisition and inspects materials and parts (raw and finished).
  • Confers with department managers and other supervisors.
  • Oversees preventative maintenance in dept.
  • Ensures that products maintain quality, performance standards and productions goals are established and met.
  • Ensures that ISO 13485:2016 and FDA/QSR standards are met.
  • Provides recommendations for capital equipment and labor resources as needed.
  • Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
  • Recommends personnel actions such as hiring, promotion, coaching, discipline, transfers, pay changes, training and terminations.
  • Approves absence and overtime.
  • Assists workers in solving work problems.
  • Orients and trains new workers.
Requirements:

Education & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent - required
  • 5 years sheet metal experience - preferred
  • 2 years supervision/management experience - preferred
  • Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities will be considered.
