Southeastern Equipment Company has an AMAZING opportunity for a Service Advisor in Monroe, Ohio

Qualified candidates will be responsible for the efficient and profitable operation of the service department.

Advises and makes recommendations to the branch and general service manager with respect to the best interest of the service department whenever and wherever activities of the company and customers are involved.

  • Develops reasonable annual objectives for the service department to include:
    • Expected billing for labor based on sales estimates (shop work distinguished from fieldwork),
    • Rental contracts and used equipment sales
  • Develops markets for service department abilities.
  • Considers the type of service to be performed, equipment, and space required, skills needed and makes recommendations to company management concerning such requirements
  • Selects and hires personnel as needed.
  • Ensures that proper records, reports, and procedures are established concerning all service work performed
  • Accounts for the proper division of time and overtime devoted to customer equipment versus company-owned equipment, housekeeping, clean up, testing, and inspection.
  • Ensures that necessary shop tools and equipment are available and maintained in good order
  • Verifies that new machines and outgoing demo machines are clean and in "ready-to-go" condition; that follow up service is conducted as required and in line with factory warranty.
  • Periodically evaluates the performance of the service department as compared to company plan and as obtained from customer reports, sales department, as well as researching competitors, and makes changes as necessary
  • Maintains working relationships with parts management and parts department personnel and sees that proper procedures, records, and reports concerning parts for service are in order and communicated appropriately
  • Recommends the purchase of service vehicles; maintains the fleet in proper mechanical condition and supervises the economical use of vehicles in the performance of service work. Requires discipline in shop housekeeping and service practices
  • Reviews salary and compensation plans for service personnel and makes recommendations for changes as appropriate
  • Ensures that service literature, instruction manuals, catalogs, and factory communications pertaining to the service department are properly maintained, current, and brought to the attention of service personnel when appropriate
  • Performs required administrative details such as preparing reports, estimates, and forecasts; maintains warranty records; initiates campaigns designed to increase the profit of the service department
  • Supervises a shop of approximately 3-5 service technicians
  • Completes paperwork with regards to billing, warranty, and manufacturers

Qualifications:

  • Service writer or warranty writer experience is preferred
  • Must have the ability to work with various manufacturer computer programs and the ability to manage paperwork and reports efficiently
  • The qualified candidate will demonstrate an ability to manage service operations;
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Strong customer service focus
  • Strong leadership and coaching abilities
  • Organizational and multitasking skills
