Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have:


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of experience designing and implementing vulnerability and patch management processes in large organizations.
  • Strong technical expertise in vulnerability and patch management tools and technologies.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and best practices, such as the Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS), the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Cybersecurity Framework, and ISO 27001.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex data sets and draw meaningful conclusions and recommendations.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and write clear and concise reports.
  • Experience with project management methodologies and tools, such as Agile and Scrum.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to align patch management efforts with broader business objectives.
  • Ability to work on-site in Naperville, IL at least one day a week and keep regular Central Time working hours.

Responsibilities:

As a key member of the team, the Senior Vulnerability and Patch Management Consultant will:


  • Provide domain expertise and subject matter expertise in vulnerability and patch management.
  • Design and deliver patch management practices, including vulnerability scanning, prioritization, and remediation, based on industry standards and best practices, such as the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Cybersecurity Framework and ISO 27001.
  • Implement new patch management processes for all layers of enterprise infrastructure, including mobile, server, hardware, and applications.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to ensure patch management processes are aligned with broader business objectives.
  • Create clear and concise reports on progress and provide regular updates to project stakeholders.


What you’ll be working on

Our client, a Fortune 1000 consumer packaged goods company, is seeking a Senior Vulnerability and Patch Management Consultant to join their existing team. The consultant will be responsible for providing domain knowledge and subject matter expertise as well as practical implementation know-how to design and implement vulnerability and patch management processes and tooling. The focus of this engagement will be to validate and improve the current process that enables the existing world-class security organization to continue to assess and patch any vulnerabilities at a high level.
