Summary Description of the Position:

Kassouf & Co. seeks a talented and critical-thinking individual to join our tax team. You will be a part of our fast-paced hands-on learning environment where you will gain a solid skill set that will help advance your career in accounting. As you grow with the firm ongoing opportunities and increased responsibilities will be given and expected.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare complex tax returns including, but not limited to Estate and Trust Fiduciary returns, Estate Form 706, and gift filings Form 709.
  • Review the preparation of income tax returns prepared by Staff I or Staff II.
  • Assist with the coordination of engagements including client contact, staff requirements, documentation, and timing.
  • Work with more experienced team members to research and solve difficult tax issues to develop the best solutions for clients.
  • Supervise activities of less experienced staff while working on special projects.
  • Begin building strong client relationships to be viewed as a trusted advisor.
  • Obtain skills to promote the firm, attract new clients, and expand business with existing clients.
Expected Qualifications are as follows:

Education and Credentials:
  • BA or BS degree in Accounting or a related field, from an accredited college/university.
  • Active CPA License.
Experience:
  • 2-4 years of public accounting experience (preferred).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good judgment and professional skepticism.
  • Excellent analysis and observation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with co-workers, staff, and clients.
  • Knowledge of accounting software packages and MS Office: Word, Excel, and Outlook.
