Senior Technician, Laboratory Job at Brown & Root
Performs laboratory test to determine chemical and physical characteristics or composition of solid, liquid or gaseous materials for such purposes as quality control, process control or environmental control by performing the following duties.
- Sets up, adjust, calibrates, maintains and operates laboratory equipment and instruments such as chemical balance scales, spectrophotometer, X-ray, atomic absorption, PH and conductivity meters, vacuum pumps, oven, mill (vinyl, Hoover-Mueller, Banbury), dispersers, agitators, burners, hot plates, and other equipment.
- Tests samples of in-process and final products to verify conformity to specifications. These tests include a range of preparation, including preparation of paint and plastic formulations.
- Prepares chemical solutions according to standard formulas.
- Records test results on standardized forms and in computer database.
This position requires completion of high school. College Algebra, Calculus or Trigonometry is preferred. Other Lab experience is also welcomed.
