The Opportunity

The Victorian Heart Institute (VHI) is a health and medical research organisation at Monash University. The VHI brings together brilliant minds from across a wide research, teaching and clinical community to create the cardiovascular health solutions of the future.

This exciting new role of Senior Teaching Simulation Officer will be based out of The Victorian Heart Hospital (VHH). Being Australia’s first dedicated heart hospital, the VHH is the physical home of the Monash Victorian Heart Institute enabling the co-location of research, education and patient care. It's a powerful model for collaboration, innovation and better health outcomes.

The Senior Teaching Simulation Officer will be responsible for overseeing and delivering high-quality technical services to support the operations of the Victorian Heart Institute. This role will involve significant liaison with academic and professional staff, especially in the areas of daily resource management, academic teaching and research support, technical advice and occupational health & safety.

As the successful candidate you will be responsible for:

  • Contributing to planning and operational committees to share knowledge and expertise in Simulation Education
  • Overseeing and administering the delivery of a high-quality simulation and simulation related services including applying advanced technical methodology, reporting on and minimising risks, undertaking data analysis, interpretation of results and reporting in accordance with operational standards
  • Providing specialist advice and/or training to clients, staff, students and other stakeholders for the Simulation Suites, including compliance with technical standards and protocols
  • Developing and maintaining up-to-date specialist or technical knowledge of new and innovative methodology, equipment, technology, data management and analysis in simulation education

The appointee will have a degree qualification in a relevant field with extensive relevant experience; extensive experience and management expertise in technical or administrative fields; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
