Location: Montebello, CA 90640

Salary: $110K-$150K(depends on experience)

Job Type: Full-time, direct hire

Time: M-F (8am-5pm)-flexible

The Sr. Systems Engineer role is responsible for providing engineering support, system deployment and administration of physical and virtual computing environments. The position will provide mentoring, training and direction to other engineers as well as systems architectural design. This position works closely with IT Network/System Engineers and IT Infrastructure support to implement, monitor and maintain production and Dev infrastructure. Additionally, they work closely with the IT Management to ensure all system changes are fully tested prior to release. All IT team members are responsible for enhancing the capabilities and efficiencies of application and infrastructure portfolio.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, computer science.

2.10 or more years of experience managing Microsoft server systems. Years of experience required may be off-set by a combination of education and certifications applicable to the position.

3. Experience with virtualization system technologies (VMware VSphere, Citrix Xen, and Microsoft Hyper-V).

4. Experience administrating Microsoft Exchange server

5. Experience with Microsoft SCCM and SCOM

6. Experience supporting solutions with high availability and real time monitoring.

7. Experience managing cloud environment.

Responsibilities

1. Architect assigned systems and advice on critical systems design decisions.

2. Design and implement process improvements.

3. Actively monitor health of systems.

4. Utilize Project management software to plan and track progress.

5. Plan and schedule system and hardware upgrades and updates.

6. Coordinate and perform system and hardware updates.

7. Take ownership of projects and handle them in timely manner.

8. Prioritize projects and deliver quality work within specified timelines.

9. Provide status updates to management and stakeholders regarding issues and progress.

10. Evaluate talent and assist in recruiting and team building efforts.

11. Provide mentorship, training and direction to team members.

12. Keep track of hardware/software warranty & support contracts. Track licensing requirements. 13. Maintain existing department and system documentation.

14. Add new documents including FAQ, guides, KB, etc.

15. Obtain quotes and place orders.

16. Engage and work with third party vendors where required.

17. Identify new and emerging technologies and solutions that can benefit the company.

18. Work extra hours remotely or onsite as needed.

19. Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Abilities

1. High level of understanding and experience with Server operating systems, Server Hardware, storage and virtualization technologies.

2. Self-motivated, highly organized, and detail orientated, demonstrating ability to work both independently and within a team oriented, collaborative environment.

3. Follow all company policies and act with a high level of professionalism.

4. High level of understanding of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP and networking

5. Willingness and ability to play a hands-on technical role within a team

6. Demonstrated ability to deliver complex projects on time and on budget.

7. Proven ability to run a highly effective support organization

8. Broad and deep understanding of modern computing technology, systems and network architecture, data management, information security, and cloud-based services

9. Must be able to share and communicate ideas and processes in verbal and written form in a clear and concise manner.

10. Must be able to troubleshoot complicated issues, think outside the box, get-help when needed and work with other engineer to deliver results in timely manner.

11. Must be able to lead projects and deliver results.

12. Must be willing to learn and adopt new technologies.

Physical Requirements

1. Ability to sit, stand, stoop, reach, lift (up to 10 pounds), bend, etc., hand and wrist dexterity to utilize computer.

2. May require travel to sites/program and special functions. Environmental Conditions Critical to Performance 1. Work is in an office environment, climate controlled through central air condition.
