As a Sr. Research Associate at Navigate, you will perform routine testing under GCP/GLP/CLIA regulations to support clinical trial sample testing and assist with assay development activities. While part of a highly collaborative team, you will be expected to exhibit independence in testing samples across multiple projects. In this role, you will bring critical thinking, initiative and clear communication during the performance of projects.

What you’ll be doing: Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Perform testing of patient specimens or develop new staining protocols using multiplex fluorescence immunohistochemistry staining and digital image analysis methods following work instructions, SOPs and/or experimental design
  • Analysis and QC of image data using software such as AQUA® Technology or HALO®
  • Data report and data transfer using LIMS
  • Perform instrument maintenance
  • Follow all GMP/GCP/GLP/CLIA regulations and ensure Quality Events are documented
  • May contribute to authoring and reviewing technical documents such as work instructions, SOPs and internal presentations
  • Perform basic troubleshooting on procedures and assays. May make recommendations for solutions to more senior scientific staff

This position will be located at the San Diego, CA site and will not have the ability to be located remotely. This position will require 0% travel as defined by the business (domestic and/ or international).

Minimum requirements

What you’ll bring to the role:
  • MS with no experience, BS/BA with scientific emphasis and minimum of 2 years relevant experience, or Associates degree with minimum of 4 years’ relevant experience
  • Demonstrated understanding of, and ability to apply principles, concepts, practices and standards associated with sample testing and/or analytical assay development/validation in a laboratory setting
  • Demonstrated flexibility and willingness to learn new skills and core competences in immunohistochemistry and digital image analysis
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Critical thinker and team player

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $54,300-67,900 a year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
