What You'll Do

As a Senior Product Researcher you'll be a key member of the product research team, embedded in the broader product org, across Aescape's journey from pre-product to in-market and beyond. You'll research a huge variety of topics, deploying a mix of qual and quant methods to inform decisions across virtually every product dimension and at every stage of the product development lifecycle. Your work will involve both deeply generative and hyper-targeted evaluative projects. You will be empowered to make decisions, lead projects, engage deeply with the full stakeholder ecosystem and operate with a significant degree of autonomy, with strong support, direction and mentorship.

This is a mid-level individual contributor role that assumes a strong baseline of research experience and knowledge, with an expectation of rapid growth in skills and seniority.

• Lead small and mid-sized research projects with a high degree of independence, autonomy, strategic swing and support
• Partner deeply with the product research lead on large, complex and mixed-methods projects that aim to shape the future of Aescape
• Own a significant portion of Aescape's evaluative and optimization oriented research
• Be the key thought-partner and point person for the product research lead
• Become a key thought-partner across the stakeholder ecosystem, with significant visibility at all levels of the organization
• Partner with the rest of the Aescape product research team to develop, optimize and grow the Aescape research lab embedded within the Aescape flagship spa location
• Mentor and guide more junior team members
• Grow over time into a progressively more senior research practitioner and strategic thinker, with an increasingly wide degree of impact

What you'll bring

• A meaningful foundation of product/user/design research experience, with a strong preference for professional experience over a purely academic background
• Competence across methods > at this stage we need flexible generalists over deep subject specialists
• An appreciation (and hunger) for the needs of a pre-product start-up that seeks to ship excellent products quickly
• Comfort with and enjoyment of ambiguity, complexity, pace, independence and flexibility
• Strong people and collaboration skills, and an intuitive sense of when to lead and when to follow
• Interest and appreciation for wellness, wellness technology and the massage and recovery category
